Copyright Request

Here is a screenshot of me contacting the production company that made Lorde's album Melodrama. Below is a copy of the message that I sent.

To whom it may concern, 

I am an A2 medis strudent from the UK requesting permission to use Lorde's song 'Sober' from the album 'Melodrama' for my A Level Media Studies coursework. I will be making a music video as part of my coursework, and would like to be able to use this song without being copyrighted. Thank you for your time.

We have to make a copyright request so that we can use the song sober without legal consequences. It is to make sure that our music video isn't removed and to make it clear to the company that we make no profit from our music video.
